The good EV guide

The choice of all-electric cars is growing by the day, so which one should you buy? The Tesla Model Y, the UK's bestselling electric car, has been hailed as the future of the electric vehicle (EV) due to its rapid charging system and rapid chargers that can power most vehicles in under 30 minutes. The range of EV vehicles has also grown significantly, from cheap urban microcars to record-breaking hypercars such as the Rimac Nevera. Range anxiety has been a key issue for EV buyers, as many have a range of over 500 miles and only take a few minutes to power them. The Tesla model Y starts at £46,090 and rises to £62,180 for the top-of-the-range Dual-Motor Performance model with 319-mile (WLTP) range, still makes for a good all-rounder. Other notable EV brands include BYD (Build Your Dreams) and Polestar, which has already overtaken Tesla as the world’s bestselling EV maker, Lynk and Co, NIO and Omoda. The European Commission's recent launch into Chinese EVs could lead to tariffs on Chinese EV tariffs.
