The performer, who appeared in major plays and series such as 'The Crown' and 'The Windsors', lost her life on Friday and her representative was in charge of giving the tragic news.
"It is with great sadness that we share with you that, following her recent cancer diagnosis, star of stage and screen Haydn Gwynne died in hospital in the early hours of Friday, October 20, surrounded by her beloved children, close family and friends," her manager wrote.
"We would like to thank the staff and teams at the Royal Marsden and Brompton Festivals for their wonderful care over the last few weeks."

Haydn Gwynne was due to have a role in Cameron Macintosh's 'Stephen Sondheim' s Old Friends' at the Gielgud Theatre, but her appearance was cut short due to her failing health.
The British actress started off her career by moving abroad.
"I felt that because I hadn't been to drama school, an acting career was out of the question, and that if I didn't work abroad after university then I never would, so I went to Italy," she once explained.
After graduating, she moved to Rome to teach English at the University of Rome.
She then went to New York, USA, to pursue her dream, and she was a resounding success.
Among his most important roles was his debut in 1990, playing Alex Pates in 'Drop The Dead Donkey'.
Her work earned her a Bafta TV nomination, and she was later on the Olivier Award shortlist for her roles in the West End's 'City of Angels' and 'Billy Elliot The Musical'.
